Topography Map

Utre village in Kolhapur unfolds across a hill-dominated terrain, surrounding agrarian fields. The topographical map of this landscape revels:  at the hill’s core, tightly packed contour lines signal steep, rugged slopes, while toward the periphery these lines loosen into wider intervals, marking the gradual release into agricultural land and fertile river valleys.

The built fabric organizes itself as a circumferential ring along the mid-slopes. Here, dwellings and pathways align with natural terraces, creating a rhythm of settlement that is both pragmatic and responsive to terrain.Roads trace these terraces, reinforcing the settlement’s organic adaptation to slope and contour.
