House 7

Built in 2019, this house was designed by a hired engineer on a plot of land purchased by the family. The family, which previously lived together as a joint family, now consists of five members: a husband, wife, two daughters, and a son.

The house is constructed with RCC and brick, and cost approximately 8 lakh rupees. Interestingly, even though the land is owned, the family pays a nominal amount to the gram panchayat, contributing to local development.

The husband works as a cylinder delivery person in the city and owns a tempo. His wife and son work on their fields, cultivating sugarcane, and also tend to two cows, selling milk for additional income.

The house has an overhead tank for water supply, stored in tanks and vessels. It's divided into a living room, kitchen, two rooms, WC, bathing area, and washing area. The family uses biogas and cylinders for cooking.

The kitchen is mostly occupied by the women of the house, while the living room and outdoor areas are frequented by the men. This division reflects the family's traditional dynamics.
