House 5

The house was built in 1976 and was designed by their father. Before constructing this house, the family lived in a different house. The current house is a division of the original structure, which was later partitioned. Initially, four families lived in this house.

There was a long space that now functions as the kitchen, which was earlier a gotha and also used to keep hens. house. After stepping down, there was another gotha and washroom area, which was earlier used for washing clothes and utensils. Initially, this area consisted only of open landscape. Over time, this space also became multifunctional. The materials used for constructing the house include stone, bricks, and wood.

 

The ground portion was made of stone and plastered with cement, while the upper portion was built with bricks and cement plaster. Wood was used as structural support for the roof. Part of the roof was made of patra (metal sheets) and part of Mangalore tiles. Flooring was replaced with new tiles when the stone walls were plastered with cement.
